CD4+ T Cells of Prostate Cancer Patients Have Decreased Immune Responses to Antigens Derived From SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein

چکیده

The adaptive immune response to severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is important for vaccine development and in the recovery from disease 2019 (COVID-19). Men cancer patients have been reported be at higher risks of contracting virus developing more forms COVID-19. Prostate (PCa) may associated with both these risks. We show that CD4 + T cells SARS-CoV-2-unexposed hormone-refractory (HR) metastatic PCa had decreased cell responses antigens SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein but not spiked ‘common cold’-associated human 229E (HCoV-229E) as compared healthy male volunteers who responded comparably HCoV-229E- SARS-CoV-2-derived antigens. Moreover, HCoV-229E antigen-elicited cross-reacted impaired vaccination, cross-reactivity can mediate antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) These findings highlight potential increased vulnerability

SARS-COV-2 Virus; Immune Responses and The Immunopathogenesis

Abstract Background and Objectives Clinical features of SARS-COV-2 virus include fever, headache, cough, sore throat, and shortness of breath, and in severe forms it leads to disseminated intravascular coagulation, septic shock, and ultimately death. Excessive secretion of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1 leads to cytokine storms in this disease. The emergence of new va...

Induction of T Regulatory Subsets from Naïve CD4+ T Cells after Exposure to Breast Cancer Adipose Derived Stem Cells

Background: Adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) provoke the accumulation and expansion of regulatory T cells, leading to the modulation of immune responses in tumor microenvironment. Objective: To assess the effect of tumoral ASCs on the trend of regulatory T cells differentiation. Methods: Peripheral blood naïve CD4+ T cells were co-cultured with ASCs derived from breast cancer or normal breast ...

Immunological and Clinical Aspects of Immune Responses to SARS-CoV-2

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by a coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2 from the family Coronaviridae, was first reported in December 2019 in China. The disease have mild or severe symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms, followed by severe inflammation, cytokine storm, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and dysfunction of...

Immune Responses of CD4 T-Cells of MDR-TB Patients to M. Tuberculosis Total Lipid Antigens

Background: CD4T-cell have a central role in protective immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) protein antigens, but function of these cells in response to M. tuberculosis total lipid antigens has remained unclear. The present study was undertaken to determine role of CD4 T cells in the MDR-TB patients against M. tuberculosis total lipid antigens. Materials and Methods...

Whole-inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines: from fear to hope

Undoubtedly, vaccination can be one of the promising approaches to control infectious diseases such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Inactivated viral vaccines have a history of "vaccine-induced enhanced disease", which may occur when neutralizing antibodies bind to viral antigens without blocking or clearing the infection. This can cause additional inflammation through the mechanisms described for ot...
